Can dates cause diabetes?

Although the relationship is complicated, sugars in dates won’t cause diabetes. However, eating too much sugar can lead to becoming overweight. This  can increase your risk for type 2 diabetes. Those with diabetes can still eat dates but they need to mind their carbohydrate intake.
