Can eating natural honey and dates cause diabetes or any other disease?

Dates have a low glycemic index. This means they do not significantly raise a person’s blood sugar levels. However, honey does cause a spike in blood sugar 30 minutes after consumption. If eaten excessively, it may lead to developing diabetes. Neither honey nor dates have concrete links to other diseases.
